Text is really just a code. A layer between the sender and recipient. The trick is to make this layer as transparent as possible. When humans beings read, they want to not see the words but to see the meaning clearly in their heads. There are many techniques for the writer to achieve this: Using analogies, metaphors and examples as well as writing in a language that stimulates and floats freely. We do it all and more. In Danish but also in English.
The human brain thinks in relations and images, so both interest and level of understanding is highly stimulated by good use of imagery like photography, infographics and illustrations. We sometimes do them inhouse, but often we develop the concepts and then work with the very best freelancers to make also the imagery part of achieving the goals of the communication.
They are all over the place at the moment. Apps. They can be wonderful little additions to a person’s life, but they can also be additions that are not worth the cost of developing them – most apps are only used a couple of times and then forgotten. When working on an organisation’s communication, we always determine what media is best used to achieve the specific goals. If an app is the way, then we make it a slick and user friendly one.
